I have found that mums, cabbage and kale make nice fall plantings. The cabbage and kale seem to last longer but don't come in as many colors and aren't as bright as mums. Your local garden nursery should be able to help you.

LadyMar, don't forget topiaries. Evergreens can make very beautiful additions to your terrace. They will be with you all year round and can be decorated for the season. You can make them into topiaries or just use them in their natural form. Good luck.

LadyMar, evergreens would be good. You could decorate them for different seasons. They could also be made into topiaries.
