Dryer sheets are put in the dryer with a load of laundry to prevent static cling. Most common brand is 'Bounce' :)
It's a piece of soft paper that's treated with fabric softener. You toss it into the dryer with your laundry and it softens and freshens your laundry load.
Horrid chemical filled sheets that you use in the dryer. I would skip using them for their intended purpose. Much better off using vinegar in the rinse and felted wool dryer balls. They ruin fabric over time and make your towels less absorbent.

It is a manmade cloth such as Wet wipes when dry, that has been impregnated with a fabric softener with a nice smell ! Available from Supermarkets in the Washing Isle.
