Here's a link to a few ideas. The main thing is to let your kids enjoy the creative process of making the costumes with help from you. As they begin, more ideas will flow. What fun!

Make it fun, not terrorizing. Let your daughter dress from her own and your closet and drawers. Your son from his closet plus other interests: space, sports, or cartoons. Now flip the closets and you will get it—let each wear what he/she wants, as long as it’s safe and comfortable. A 2-yr-old will get tired quickly, so give him a chair or small bed to scream Boo from or nap in. Your daughter might want to be a Halloween princess ballerina in front of an open window, or inside your doorway. Limit your live Halloween house to only those rooms on the front side of your house, and light the walkway brightly with solar lights and battery-operated candles. If you could be a scarecrow, Mrs. Santa Claus, or a Greek goddess or mermaid, you can have lots of ghosts, angels, and all sorts of characters hanging from $1 Slinkies from Dollar Tree. Instead of having dunking for apples in a backer or barrel, have a basket of smallish apples to bite for. Have a stack of paper napkins and a trash can very near, and you will have very little cleanup. Try to get several adult volunteers who share your vision and are sensitive to the emotions of young children. I’d love to see your Live Halloween House, Lawayasousa! Post on Hometalk. ☺️
it can be as simple as a tent with lights in it and some eerie music :)
