Hni, I have two large Agave on my terrace which have now become too large and heavy to move inside for the winter here in the UK. Last year I used Bubble plastic, but that got torn to bits with the Beast of the East. Any ideas what I could do this year 24 inches in diameter.

    Hi John,

I would do as you did last year with the bubble wrap, that worked, but this year in addition, wrap with burlap outside of the bubble wrap and secure it well.

    Best to you.

According to quick research, most agaves tolerate cold snap to 25. They do quite well around 50 F. Keep them dry in colder temps. Possibly, a little mini greenhouse can be constructed cheaply.

Thanks for the answers to my question, Would love to do mini greenhouse, but they sit either side of a bench in a narrow part, against conservatory and would not be feasible to put any structure up that would block access through, so looks like it's bubblewrap again, but this time with burlap/canvas sacking for added protection at the moment! Thanks again for your ideas!

What you are talking about w/ the bubble wrap IS a mini greenhouse.

Hi, Yes you are right, but it go torn to shreds last year. Might try a white rubble bag this year?
