Craft Caddy

What do you do with empty Crystal Light Containers? I turned 10 of them into a customized Craft Caddy! They're now on my craft table instead of the land fills. I love it! Everything is so organized now.
This is the finished Craft Caddy made from Crystal Light containers. It holds all of my 'go to' supplies at my fingertips, and was easy to make and all of the supplies I had on hand.
4 containers measures 8" wide, which is the size I needed for the space I had.
I marked the containers to fit what I wanted to use in my Craft Caddy.
I continued the line to curve towards the back.
Using my craft scissors, I cut out just below the outline. If there is still some marker left after you've cut, some nail polish remover & cotton pads will get it off.
I painted on a thick coat of Mod Podge where my trim would go.
Then I pressed the trim into the Mod Podge. Cut off excess & seal the ends with more Mod Podge.
I added a second 'upside down' trim for the taller ones.
I covered the raw edges of the trim with ribbon, using a hot glue gun.
Here they are all glued together.
To make it sturdier, I traced around the containers on to some foam board, & cut it out just inside the lines. Then I added a lot of hot glue & pressed the containers into the hot glue.
It could have been done at this point, but I started to look at the lid. I added some lace, glitter, pearl trim & a cameo to the lid & glued it to the center of the front.
Here's the Craft Caddy finished.

I liked it so much that I made a smaller version for my paint brushes!

Love this, mostly because I love the Crystal Light containers. Seems so wasteful to simply recycle them. I always have a stash where I store little things. My latest use for them is to freeze water and use several in my gallon water jug.
