Black Lace Mason Jar Candle Holders

Every year I host a Halloween party where I go all-out on Halloween decor. Since I don't want it to look the same every year, I'm always trying to find new ways to add to the decor that are easy to make and don't cost a lot of money.
One of my favorite ways to do cheap and easy projects is to use mason jars (or any old glass jars I have hanging around) and left-over lace to make candle holders.

For this project, I added a pins and necklace pendants as embellishment.
The first step is to attach the lace to the jar.

For this, spray the jar with repositionable adhesive. Then wrap the 6" wide black lace around the jar. This kind of spray glue works well because you can move the lace around if you don't get it on straight the first time.
Then wrap the 1 1/2" wide lace around the jar. Position the ends so that they are on the same side where the black lace ends meet.

I like to use velcro dots to attach the ends together but you can also glue them.
If you're using a pin for embellishment, use wire cutters or tin snips to cut the post off the back of the pin.
For a necklace pendant, cut off the top hanging ring.
Spread some clear gorilla glue on the back of the pin or pendant. This glue dries clear so you won't see it through the lace.
Stick the pendant on to the front of the ribbon.
Clamp the pin onto the jar for a couple of hours to make sure the glue will hold.
Add a candle and you're done! I like to use flame-less candles to keep the heat down.
Use different pins and ribbons to create different Halloween looks.
