You're a Grand Old Flag!!

My father in law is keenly aware of my obsession with reclaimed wood. So when his neighbor was tearing down his old fence he rescued a few panels for me! Squeal! I knew exactly what I wanted to do with them too. With the rustic rounded wood slats and the "tattered" ends I knew this wood was meant to be an American flag!
Cutting old fence section to make sure flag will have 13 stripes.

Section off with painter's tape to white wash blue paint on. Using a lot of water and a few drops of paint mixed together.
White wash stripes, red and white!
Using a star stencil cut out on contact paper I used white paint (not watered down) to paint on 50 stars.

With a little distressing it is ready to wave!
