I wanted to put together a fun and colorful pumpkin patch to decorate for Fall! I went with this fun dirty pour method, and it became a long winded and fun adventure! Watch how it all unfolds!
These were my supplies... for the pumpkin pour #1. (+ Elmer's glue as flow agent)

Gather paint choices, cups, gloves! (just got a mani!) mixing sticks, trash bag to protect work surface... and "acrylic medium" (or glue) -- ask for it at Michaels or Hobby Lobby. (Use a coupon --- it can be pricey!)
Mix paint with flow agent until it's rather "soupy" but not thin... or it will just slide off the pumpkin.
Mix medium with paint.
Mix WAY more mixing medium than you think! ...so that it really flows down the sides of your pumpkin. (Maybe like 1 part paint, 2-4 parts medium) ...all of the paints seemed to have their own original viscosity... so use your judgement.

Dump colors into other cup - in whichever order you chose. Maybe even do it twice... like I did!
Pour colors over pumpkin stem. Let them drip down the pumpkin... pick up and tilt the pumpkin a bit to get some "motion" into the paint! HAVE FUN!
I really did NOT like how pumpkin #2 turned out.
...looked like ketchup and mustard!!

So... I got out new paint... and re-poured. ...that's the magic of paint!

I assembled new colors.
I layered the paint in my pour cup.

White, navyish, wine, and cerulean. Repeat.
MUCH BETTER, eh?
I also did a third pumpkin with yellow, green, white, and black. I think they look magical in my yard. BOO!

If you want more of one color... simply drizzle a bit down the side of the pumpkin as it's drying. (...like, I added more yellow to a couple of pumpkins)

Note: I finished all with clear polyurethane spray. ...it has even held up in the rain.

SO... get pumpkin pouring!! HAVE FUN!

Here’s the green one‼️
Here’s the completed green one. ( I later drizzled some yellow down it — for a little more BOO!)
Suggested materials:
