I do not know I had some expert look at it at first it started by a row of holes quarter inch in size in line above the eye on about a quarter the size of the tree its a big size maple but now a lotof the branches are dying and half of the tree at the bottom. Has lost the bark and the termite must be in there because we see sawdust all around on the ground its not the only tree that I have like this but this one is close to my house and was giving us nice needed shade in the summer Thanks for your help

  • Have your soil tested, then decide what to do depending on results. Some diseases linger and could kill another tree.

Disease is usually inside the tree. Bugs on the other hand that cause issues and are outside and travel inside. If you have a bug issue, have it resolved prior to planting. Leaving your area clear for about 1 year should do the trick.
