Ceramic Tiles?
I have a 2-story home, & I'm thinking about replacing the upstairs carpet with ceramic tile due to allergy reasons. Is it possible to do this with the floors on the 2nd floor is wood & not concrete?

I would use a vinyl product called Allure. Home Depot sells it. It looks just like wood planks, comes in many colors, and snaps together and “floats” on your floor. Hide the edges with quarter round. I put this over tile in my kitchen, I love it. Everyone thinks it’s wood. Easy to clean and a fraction of the cost and weight of tile.
if you are handy, it’s a DIY project.
You can, but I would rethink the tile. It is going to be cold underfoot in winter and noisy as all get out. You will hear every single step forever, it will drive you bonkers. If someone is napping, forget it. You might have to consider the weight factor too. I would go with hardwood instead. Or even vinyl planks.
Yes it can be done. But, I have to ask, why not hardwood or vinyl planks? Depending on where you live, tile can be very cold in the winter.
Yes you can. You would need to screw down cement board to adhere the ceramic tiles. Have you considered finishing the wood floors or installing vinyl plank flooring.
First issue is, tile weighs a lot ! If you are talking about doing a whole floor, you need to consider will the structure be able to hold up , it need the right load bearing support. I needed an easy and inexpensive way to re do my floors. I used a peel and stick vinyl textured wood look planks. They are super easy to lay down ! They look amazing, no one believes they are peel and stick !!! And because they are textured the are good in the bathroom , as well.
