Protect Rhubarb ?
I have only 2 rhubarb plants left, so I must be doing something wrong. How do I protect them for the winter? I live in Indiana

Rhubarb needs cold to trigger spring growth. Rhubarb tolerates very cold (-20 F) very well. Collect the last few stalks after the first hard frost and throw them on the compost pile. Then spread a layer (2-3") or compost (or leaves or hay) to prevent winter winds from drying out your roots.

A good deep soil base is needed, we live in Minnesota with a heavy loam soil. On established plants we have hard freezes, mowed over them, driven over them with heavy equipment when we moved the house in and the plants keep coming back with vigor.
