Glittery Fourth of July Decor DIY

I'll be honest: I love the look of glitter, but I HATE the mess. Detest it! I had quit crafting with glitter for a long, long time, until I discovered DecoArt's line of glitter paints. Finally, I could craft with glitter again without finding the sparkly stuff everywhere! Now I glitter most of my projects, and I get to enjoy the process without dealing with all the clean up.
I filled my pots with paper shred and placed a battery operated tea light in them. These look really sweet on my patio table! They'd make great containers for party favors, or fill them with paper sparklers and use them as centerpieces. For another way to use the glittery patriotic images, check out my tutorial for the ribbon badges.
Paint one pot white and the other blue. Once they have dried, paint over the color with the Glamour Dust paints.
Embellish the pots with ribbon, glittered 3-D stars, and the patriotic images.
To make these patriotic pots and badges, I used DecoArt's Glamour Dust Glitter Paints and Craft Twinkles. Glamour Dust Glitter Paints have very fine glitter with a pretty hint of color, whereas Craft Twinkles have coarser glitter (more like the traditional glitter you might be used to).
