How do you get rid of moles making mounds of dirt in yard?

  • I keep a small box of instant mashed potatoes on hand and sprinkle a few spoonfuls where i think they travel. I do this at night since most are nocturnal. After they eat, the flakes expand in the stomach and well they die.

    NOTE: If you have pets keep these flakes out of their reach.

    Long term? Seed the lawn with BT spores that will eventually kill the Japanese beetle grubs that the moles eat. Short term? Traps.

  • Moles are usually after grubs in the lawn. Get rid of the grubs and the moles will go too!

    I spread diazinon, it has to be watered in ground after application but will kill grub worms, ticks and fleas. Moles will move on to find food source.
