You need to figure out of they are fruit flies of fungus gnats. Fruit flies eat rotting food especially fruit and fungus gnats eat plant roots and live in the soil of plants. You kill gnats differently than fruit flies.
I’ve used vinegar and dish soap mixed together and put in a shallow dish with great success. The fragrance attracts them. They drown. Be sure to check for rotting fres fruit or veggies where they are propagating
I used to use a trap like Lynn mentioned. I got a Flylight last year, so I use that now. The gnats are usually got in a day. I also use it a reminder to scrub my kitchen really good, too.

pour apple cider vinegar in a bowl add a suit to of blue dawn. Cover with plastic wrap.
