Did you know that pumpkins have hair?
Well they do now! I actually stole this idea from my daughter-in-law and son. Jaclyn & Ryan are very creative.
At Walmart or Target they sell the very large pumpkins for $6.97.
I picked up 2 and gave one to another family member for their porch.
Choose your mums. I choose the orange red color to highlight the orange colors but do what you like.
Gold Krylon paint for painting the pumpkins. Use any color. I toyed with blue and red or green but I stuck with the regular pumpkin for my house and my kids did the gold. It’s very elegant looking.
I added dirt in the pumpkin. And since it has holes in the bottom, drainage was taken care of.
I used leftover aquarium rocks to aide in drainage. Mums have to be watered daily, because they are blooming and the flowers need water to grow.
It came together very nicely.
My daughter, Deanna, had the pumpkin kits and they are adorable! They are wooden pieces in picks to decorate the pumpkins.
The planters, I had and purchased this summer.
The metal owl and girl, I found at a Big Lots Store last year and I just love them!
Now, I have to move the bottle returns in the photo! oopse!
This Is the pumpkin in gold. I love how they didn’t paint the eyes nose and mouth to give it a really great definition, and make it pop.
Isn’t this just adorable? With the garland on the railings, the little haybales mixed with real baby pumpkins and small painted pumpkins.
Just a little bit of decoration can make a house warm & inviting without spending a lot of money.
