First, dip your doggie in a flea bath. Bomb the room, then vacuum. Remember to bomb again in a few weeks when the larvae hatches. There are many flea and tick control aides for your dogs. Check this site out: https://www.fleabites.net/7-ways-to-naturally-get-rid-of-fleas-on-dogs/

  • Put orange essential oil in a spray bottle of vinegar. Spray the carpet down and after it dries vacuum. You can put a fan out to speed up dry time. Empty the vacuum. Do this everyday for a couple days depending on how bad your infestation is. I don't even have furry pets (just turtles and fish) and we had a horrible infestation cuz if our crazy cat lady neighbor. Kids couldn't even play outside without getting chewed up and they would inevitably bring the fleas inside hitching a ride on their clothes. I have five boys so I was scared to use pesticides and this WORKED.

    • These aren't your typical house cats, there is a feral cat population in the woods near my house, she fed them so they'd stay and poop all over my backyard, have babies and just leave them (which I learned is because they're pod has a Large enough population so they won't add to it) i finally chased them off with bear urine sprayed around the perimeter of the property, they didnt have any natural predators here (they'd poop right out in the open, not even bury it) She moved and there's nobody to feed them, no more fleas and no more poop

Clean the entire house. Sprinkle “Borax Laundry Booster” (Wal-Mart) on all floors, leave down for a day, then vacuum every day for a week and dump the canister/toss the vacuum bag every time. Otherwise you’re keeping fleas in vacuum and house.

  • Instead of borax (If you're concerned about your pets) salt or baking soda will do the same thing for fleas and eggs. Leave it down 24 hours (or longer if you can) then vacuum it up. Dump the canister in the outside trash, they'll hatch right in the vacuum

You have to break the cycle, preventing the fleas from living on your pet. I found that a product named Seresto worked great at killing fleas on the animal, but you still will need to get rid of fleas in carpets, rugs and furniture. You may have to treat the house a second and third time, as the fleas go through their life-cycle.
