New Guinee Impatient not very impatient?

I bought 5 small plants of this variety this past early June. They were already in full bloom. Since then, the blooms eventually ended in a couple of weeks, and for the rest of the summer, not one bud. Now, as we enter Fall, I slowly noticed some buds appearing. I have given it sun and shade, never over watered, with the exception of a wet summer we had here in the east. So i guess it does not live up to its impatient blooming, as the other cheaper versions of this plant

Hi there. I'm Cindy. I did a bit of reading about New Guinee Impatients. I learned that they do ok in a half of day of sun but thrives in light shade. You need to keep the plant well watered. They do not tolerate drought. And, last, but most important, give it monthly feedings of a low-nitrogen plant food. This will encourage the plant to grow. I hope you find this info useful. Best wishes and good luck.

Thanks Cindy...wouldn't a nitrogen fertilize concentrate on more greenery than blooms? Also could they be brought indoors and carry over till next Spring?
