How to rewire a microwave?

what size wire should I use to rewire the above,14/1 or 12/1

I want to have a decated single line

    Good luck to you whatever you decide. Personally, I wouldn't mess with a microwave. I have blown up two microwaves and replaced them. Nowadays, you can get them for less than $100 in Walmart.

    Why do you want to run dedicated line for just a microwave. That's really not necessary. But, if you want it, I would have an electrician put it in for you. Electric isn't something you want to play with if you don't know what you're doing.

      Ok, got you, I always put the major appliances on separate breakers. Microwave was with other sockets.

    A dedicated 20 amp circuit breaker in the box, 12-2 wire with a ground.

    for possible future use, consider normal 'fault interrupter' duplex receptacle on 12-2 wire with ground.
