How can you winter boston ferns?

    Hello there. I'm Cindy. You can put that fern in your bathroom for the winter. It will do well with the moisture and steam. Good luck.

    I bring them inside and they live here and there in my home...kitchen, living room, dining room. They do ok in lower light and drier air. Mine are potted and have moved inside and outside for many years. They get too full and I literally machete them in half and pot again. Tough plant. Oh, the original plant was given to me...dug up out of the ground. Just watch out for ants that hitch a ride in the dirt. If you don't have inside space...consider a garage space or screened porch. Mine have survived lower temps...just not freezing- these may look a little sad in the Spring but will come back slowly.

    It they are like mine, you will have to vacuum lots of fallen leaves when the terms are in the house but it is worth it. A pretty plant.

    thanks all. I have tried wintering in the basement. they make a leafy mess everywhere. bathrooms arent large enough for the two huge beauties I have.
