If they will be outside, seal them with exterior grade polyurethane. Spar - urethane is something used for boats and other structures that will be exposed to water, so that would probably work. You can also find a concrete sealer in hardware stores that is for use on concrete sidewalks and steps. I would assume that would work quite well, also.

  • Concrete sealant. Have they been painted? Most concrete sealants are grey so if they've already been painted a couple coats of poly will protect your paint but i suggest that you don't let them get exposed to the elements. Concrete is very porous and moisture will move through the pores damaging paint. Don't let them get wet and they'll be fine. Next time, if you have concrete stuff to use outdoors, either seal them before painting or use an acid stain in lieu of paint
