Are you looking to re-cane seat. U tube has how to videos. If you are looking to just replace seat you can cut wood to replace the old caning. Attach brackets under the old rim to hold new wood and cut a solid piece plywood or replace with reclaimed wood. Make a paper pattern of the size to fit inside the rim of the old seat.
You can have recaned or cut a piece of wood to fit in that area, add some foam and upholster the seat.
