How can I prepare my knockout rose bushes in my yard for snowy NH

    Knocks outs are super strong and hardy roses, just make sure they have a good layer of mulch and you can even trim them back now or wait till early spring.

    Also do not fertilize them after August. That grows tender new growth that probably won't make it through the winter. I always cut mine back in the fall. I have too much clean up to do in the spring and that takes one thing off my list. I cut mine severely back about every 4 yrs because they will get about 4 ft tall and leggy if I don't. I prefer a most compact bush. Knockouts are my favorite because they can really take a cold (Polar Vortex) winter and the extreme summer heat.
