Hello, I have used them before and they are very effective. They keep a lot of the cold out and they don't make noise like plastic does.

I used shrink film on windows of a double wide trailer home. Winters temps there reached -50 Celsius. The film made a big difference - no heat loss around windows.

The shrink wrap is very effective. I like to see out and watch the young bunnies play in the snow, the shrink stuff is very clear when shrunken.

It is very effective in bitter cold winters. It cuts off the air leaks around older windows and insulates single pane windows very well. They are not bad at all to see through etc. We also know people who use the inexpensive bubble wrap for extremely cold areas, and they leave one slit about 4 to 6 inches wide on the side or a foot at the top to be able to see out. It makes a big difference too. It cuts off the cold drafts felt in the cold weather by stopping heat/cold exchange at the windows.
