Cute house...I live in a Cape Cod with dormers as well. Blue or green family or a nice cream.
If you want a pop of color, how about a teal. It goes well with your brick.
Amber here are some samples of various painted front doors so you can choose the look you like the best. https://www.google.com/search?q=what+color+to+paint+front+door+of+red+brick+house&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwi5oqT8i4beAhUhheAKHZmaDkAQsAR6BAgEEAE&biw=1592&bih=744
Beautiful house, Amber, but I only see the before photo. With a black roof and off-white trim you could paint your door in many, many colors. Personally, I would paint it a bright color - maybe red, or medium blue, rather than a dull color which would fade into the black color of the roof. Personally, I just don't like white or off-white. The railings I would paint off-white. I expect the black fence looks fine with the roof. Re. curb appeal, have you thought about removing the trees? They totally block the windows. I think I would put some wooden shutters on your windows, same red or blue of the door would be nice. And how about a slightly curved path with stepping stones in the front yard? There are many things you could do with this house. I love it.
I would say the door would be pretty painted either black or a bright color of your choice.
I think painting your front door teal & your railings off white would be really pretty & inviting. Have you thought about adding shutters & painting floor of front porch? Love your house. Very cute. Hope you show us your finished project.
I think I light shade of blue would be very pretty and it would pop against the red bricks.
Blues & teals would be nice for the door & the trim and I would also consider balancing the color update with the dormer.
Whatever you do, but the small sample sizes first and do some test areas, before buying a high grade of primer & paint. The front door gets a ton of use & high quality paint is worth it.
BTW I would not make the door trim & the door itself contrast each other, because the door & the stoop/stair is not very wide and the trim can help the door look wider.
Cute house. Wood shutters would look great and it would help balance that smaller window to the left of the front door. The railing should be the same color as the trim around the door and if you do shutters paint them the same color as the trim. I just love a good brick house.
depending upon color of bricks , Plum door with cream or taupe trim, Sage green with taupe trim ,
