Found this stack of frames with pressed wood boards and I'm just having a blast creating some mixed-media!!!

I started with some Texture Medium, a trowel, and the Mermaid Tail Roller. First, towel on a layer of the Texture Medium and keep it about 1/8" thick (this is the thickest I usually will roll through) - but I discovered that the board was not level and needed more material to get the pattern to show consistently.

When you roll through the wet Texture Medium, it peaks the material - so when it dries, you will need to sand and then clean off the dust with a rag. Now its time for some paint and other fun stuff.

I used the General Finishes Fjord Blue to base coat the board and the frame. I used two coats of paint allow dry time in between layers.

On the frame, I painted on a layer of my Foil Adhesive and just made sure I had 100% coverage - no foil adhesive = no foil transfer!!!

Allow the Foil Adhesive to dry for at least 30 minutes to an hour - best if left long so that it dries to a good hard firm tack. Once it's dry, you will transfer the Silver Foil using a terry rag and/or scrub brush. I transferred the foil leaving some of the Fjord Blue peaking through and then apply a least one or two layers of your favorite top coat (best to check the sheen first - satin and higher is recommended).

Then I went back to the sign and stenciled the words using Modern Masters Metallic Silver Paint - just make sure to use a "dry-brush" technique.

Finally, I got out my Glass Bead Gel and mixed in some Silver Glass Glitter and regular Silver Glitter - this was embossed over the Bali Flower Stencil design using the Color Shaper Tool.
