There's rusty portion on my bath tub. How can I prevent it from

making a hole that would prevent leak/corrosion? What paint should I use and how can I cover the rusty portion? What kind of cleaner should I use?

You can scrub the rust off with Comet and a nylon scrubber. Or if it is extra stubborn, use a pumice stone. It won't scratch and will get it off. Painting the bath???? I tried to paint my plastic sink and it is such a mess I have to replace it. I used RTG Tub and Shower paint and it dripped, blobbed, peeled and left brush marks. Also, no sheen whatsoever. There are various other kits online but they are about $99.00 and require you to wear a respirator. Good luck.

Thanks for your help but we need to re glaze the bath tub.

I just thought that we could use special paint spray that would cover the damaged area (that was caused by chemical cleaners we used). I need the quick and inexpensive fix for my tub.

Thank you again for your quick response.

The rust will need to be removed before any reglazing/painting can be done.

Rustoluem or Homax tub and tile paint kits. proper prep is the key. No shortcuts.
