Trim a bird of paradise ?

I am not sure how to trim back a bird of paradise. It’s really full but has dead leaves all over it. Just need to know the best way to care for it, we have had it for years and don’t want to kill it.

You wont kill it. Just trim off the dead bits and cut the spent flowers at the base. They are easy to grow and pretty hardy.

I think they like to be trimmed. We did our parents by just taking off the dead stuff and it came back fuller. My dad was unhappy we made more work. Ha!
