Your prayer plant looks like it is dehydrated. While you may be watering it like you usually do, the air in the home may be dryer than usual. The plant will respond to that. Try misting it daily (distilled water is best) and/or you could set in a dish with some water that pebbles in it so that the pot is not actually IN the water. The humidity of the evaporating water will help hydrate the air.
Your elephant ear, oddly, may be suffering from a fungal attack! Or, it may be suffering from spider mites. In either case, washing the leaves with mild soapy water and then rinsing well will help. (You don't actually WASH them, just wipe with paper towels). There are fungal sprays you can make with Neem oil (from your garden center) if you don't find any black specks when you are wiping your leaves. (the black specks would be spider mites and washing should get rid of them).
Also, if the emotional atmosphere in the home has changed ( i.e.: stress, tension, anxiety, a new family member or a loss of a family member), the plants may be reacting. They are alive and they do respond to shifts in the energy around them. It sounds kooky, but it's true!
Hi Rehana, this may be the answer to your 'prayer':
http://www.answers.com/Q/Why_do_prayer_plant_leaves_curl_and_turn_brown
Rehana, check them carefully for insects....also check if soil too wet or too dry...I water mine when I see the leaves getting limp/curling. about once a week (indoors)...mine do not get direct sun but receive lots of light during the day...also try to water only the soil not the leaves.....Have you done something different lately???... For the elephant ear plant, when was the last time it was re-potted? Jan mentioned about a soapy water treatment. You could make up a soapy water solution with a couple drops of liquid dish soap in a spray bottle. Lightly spray the under side of the leaves, and lightly dry them to prevent any mildew.
Look online to see if you may need to find a sunnier spot for it. You may want to purchase a broad spectrum or "day light" light bulb for your plant room. These light bulbs run about the same price as regular ones. You can get them in LED which saves you money and I find will also keep you happy ( no SADS in the winter time).
