smear cooking oil over label, then wait and peel off.
Wd40 great stuff very versatile.

It depends on the type of adhesive, some you can heat up with a hairdryer or heat gun and pull them off. The ones that leave most of the paper behind. WD40 is a good idea. Putting them in hot water and scraping off the label with a butter knife is another option.
You really don't have to soak them that long. Use really hot water , soak for 5 minutes. Then use a plastic pot scraper or butter knife to scrape of the label, if there is anything left re soak in hot soapy water for another 5 minutes. Any sticky stuff should come right off.
Or you can skip the soak and try baby oil , wd 40 , or goo gone , just know these make your bottles slippery , I still prefer the short soak method.
I find oil breaks down the adhesive very well. I usually use WD40 or goo-off. I have never tried cooking oil but imagine it would work the same way.
Goo B gone.
