The Painted Fireplace

Need a quick, easy and inexpensive makeover in your family room? So did this family of six that I recently worked with on a family room remodel. With only a few hundred dollars to work with, and no real carpentry skill set to speak of, the owners were looking to freshen up their dull and not-so-inviting family room space. So, I turned to paint and decor to give this room a fresh new look and feel...check it out!
AFTER: Family Room with newly painted fireplace, rearranged furniture and new accessories and decor.
BEFORE: Dark, dull and lack luster...not the ideal space for entertaining
BEFORE
AFTER: The inside of the fireplace was painted with a black, fire retardant paint, and the brick surround was painted a stark white after being primed.

Thanks for this updated look for a fireplace. I will be doing this to my own fireplace in my den. Love this look!

Probably but mine is in my living room it was paint that way when we brought our house Over the years there were times I would forget to open the damper The color they painted is a cream color that matches the wall. And I would like to brighten the living room with a brighter color for the fireplace. Any ideas
