How do I fix a table that my daughter placed polish remover on it

    You'll have to sand it down and refinish top. Polish remover us basically stripper. Sorry

    Oh that’s a terrible one.

    Besides refinishing it, table cloth to hide it works well.

    Then teach her to use a tray or cookie sheet next time to protect spills or accidents.

    Move done it myself. Ugh.

    You might be able to hand stain the “spot” and hand urethane it.

    It will require very nice small natural bristle brushes and a lot of patience. Go to a real paint store with pictures & ask for their help in selecting a stain color, brushes & top coat.

    If it is a small spot try rubbing a walnut into the affected area and see if that helps.

    If only the clear coat was affected you can lightly sand the whole top to remove any gloss and apply at least three coats of a water based polyurethane. If it has affected the stain then sanding down the old stain , restain, and seal with polyurethane.
