Hi ! I don't understand what you mean he separated at the ends. Do you mean like it shrunk ? Or that the plank is peeling into separate layers ? If you have extra planks , remove and replace it. If you don't , see if home depot or Lowe's has a match. If that doesn't work, maybe switch that plank for another that is in a covered area , like under a rug or under a sofa, or behind a door. Thanks Pamela for taking an interest in my question. My planks are coming apart with gaps between the ends of the planks. This is happening in the hall. I was wondering if there is something I can do other than taking up the planks and reinstalling them.
I have seen situations where the plank flooring was separating at the ends. They were able to slide it back into place and then put a spacer at the end against the wall to hold it into place.
Thanks Linda. We have tried to slide the planks back together but it doesn’t seem to want to budge. Do you know how they were able to slide them together? If we do get them together, I like the idea of the spacers at the end of the wall. Thanks for your time.
Have you tried placing something soft against the wood and then hammering it to see if it will move? If you have tried that I will ask my handyman what he did and reply back to you.
