What's too cold in temperature to stain a deck?
Temps here are ranging 37-45 at night, up to 55-60 during the day. Too cool to stain?

Check the label on the stain but normally it needs to be 50 - 90 degrees Fahrenheit. All the warnings I have seen are concerned with high heat and humidity. I found one post where they were talking about lower temperatures and it said it was okay but it will take longer to dry. You might want to also check with the vendor if you bought at a specialty store instead of a big box.
The optimal temp is 70 but anywhere between 50 and 90 is acceptable. Maybe we will get a few more warm days before the cold sticks. I hope that info helps Georgia, I know how it is wanting to get projects done and the weather doesn't cooperate.
Georgia, I know they make additives for regular paint for withstanding lower temperatures. You might check around and see if they have something similar for stains. Best of luck!
