Hmmm ... is a bath tub necessary?

If I took out the bath tub & made a grand shower in the Master bath, would that effect the value of the house? We just don't take baths. There is a tub in the 2nd bath.

  • Go for it. As long as there is one bathtub in the house you are good to go. I love a good bubble bath, but I am also the only one in the house. Not everyone does though.

Hello, since you have one in the other bathroom I can't see where having a really nice shower in the other would hurt the value of your home.

No. Most new homes come with tub showers installed. The master bath has 2 separate units. The garden tub with hand held shower and the large, manly, glass enclosed shower.

I am an interior designer and if my memory serves me correct a remodeled bathroom helps the value of the home but whether it is a tub or shower doesn't affect the value.
