Your Dr’s office has disposable containers.
Absolutely DO NOT put in the trash. In some areas it is against the law. Google for your area to find out who in your area accepts them. If it were me, I would bag up and take back to her doctors office. They have daily biohazard pick ups. My dentist takes any needles and adds to his daily biohazard pick up. In my area, the police station takes them too. My trash service provides you a container but it is pricey. There are too many free drop off sites - you just need to find where yours are.
Sharps must be disposed of properly, in a sealed, hard plastic container clearly marked as Hazardous Waste (or a hard plastic orange juice bottle with cap is o.k.); DO NOT PUT USED NEEDLES IN TRASH. Contact your local County Hazardous Waste facility for proper disposal, or your health care provider for resources on collection site for hazardous waste.
