How do I weatherproof a glass doorwall and still be able to open it ?

I want to be able to open it when the weather is warmer. I sealed it in plastic last winter but was unable to open it because of that.

A storm door would help. It creates a pocket of dead air between your front door and the outside. This dead air acts as a buffer or sorts.

A picture of the door wall might help.

Those are so wonderful in the summer and beautiful all year through!

The only thing I can think of that will allow you to open them is to hang heavy draperies but that will block your view.

IKEA sells shear panels that can be weighted at the bottom that might block the draft. It’s a whole system that hangs from the ceiling on tracks.

If the air is only coming through the bottom, you could make (or buy) a set of draft dodgers to lay along the bottom. Let me know if you want to know how to make those.
