Scrape with your finger nail or a meal spoon carefully to remove larger chunks then use hair dryer to melt and wipe off.
Do not use a metal spoon, get a plastic scraper to take the wax off, metal with scrape your floors.
For carpet I use paper towels with a towel laid over and then take an iron and iron over the area of spots. I would think using paper towels and lay a heated towel from dryer would work also on your wood floors
Use an old credit card or hotel room key to scrape. Put ice on it for a few minutes then scrape.
