Due to soap allergies and sensitivities of family members, I can't use most hand soaps or laundry soaps. Everyone had no problem with Dawn dishwashing soap causing skin problems for washing their hands, so I always have it in pump dispensers at all the sinks. They have a foaming soap that I use and I really like it. Try making your soap in differing soap to water ratios in your foaming pump dispenser to see if you can find the right ratio to use. Perhaps try less water in increments to see if that helps. Maybe this can help solve the problem, Terri!

Make sure that the pump you use is working right, too. Start with a couple of ounces of the soap and keep track of how much water you put in. If I remember right, the Dawn Renewal may have some kind of lotion or moisturizer in it, that may make it hard to use. If you have to, just make sure you have lotion next to the sink that everyone can use after washing their hands and try the regular Dawn or the foaming type. I have used some of the dispensers for a few years with no clogging or anything.

    Directions

    1. Fill empty foaming soap dispenser with water, approximately 4/5 full.
    2. Fill remaining space with a liquid soap of your choice (and glycerine and essential oils, if using) being careful not to get too close to the top.
    3. Shake gently to mix and use. Note: you definitely do not want to add the soap first.

I've found that it's the actual pump dispenser that matters not the hand soap. Purchase whatever foaming handsoap dispenser you most like then when it runs out refill it with equal parts of your favorite liquid hand soap & water. ( example: 4 oz liquid hand soap & 4 oz. water ) Shake lightly to mix.
