Transplanting in the fall is easy.
You can transplant up until the ground gets too frozen to work, but the earlier the better. Use a product like Rootone to help establish new roots.
Be sure to water regularly.
Hi Cheryl. Now I'm not EXACTLY sure about your zone, however, a good rule of thumb is before the first frost. I live in NEPA, and I've always transplanted my perennials right up to the first frost with no problems. My freeze line is about 2 feet so the plants have time to settle and establish a bit before the ground gets too cold. Hope this helps a bit...😊

They need enough time to establish themselves before it gets too cold, at least a couple of weeks to a month before so they can establish new root growth.
