Cover all windows from the inside with plastic, put draft guards at doors, replace filters in furnace, close any openings under house.

Every winter my Dad covers his vents that exchange air from under the house. In the spring he pulls the cardboard covers off and saves them for the next year.

Many people also cover their range vents since some vents go directly to the outside.

If possible try not to run your bathroom exhaust vents more then necessary.

If needed lay down a new bead of caulk around window and door frames.

Wrap your pipes. Walmart sells kits for this.

Hang foam insulation from basement walls and ceiling.

Hi this is Peggy. Sorry to hear you are having problems with pipes freezing. You can also wrap your pipes with insulation ( they have pipe insulation at the hardware, or use tape that heats up (you have to plug it in, but it works great.) Good luck and hope you stay warm.

How was the home insulated with foam? Pipes can be wrapped with pipe insulation. Windows can be covered with plastic window insulation kits. Install door weatherstripping and door sweeps on exterior doors.. Caulk any outside holes and gaps. Don't state what kind of heating system you have so can't advise on that. Forced air, hot water, steam, electric heat? What kind of floor? Crawl space or basement?
