What kind of paint do I use for a canvas frame??

I painted a design on a canvas frame. I used FolkArt multi- surface superior coverage acrylic finish and matte finish. After 3 coats it still looks streaking. What is the best paint to buy?

Hi Mlo,

Your paint should be fine. However if you need a less streaky painted look, it's best to use gesso on your canvas first. Here's an article to read that should help you. Wishing you the best.

A few things are important if you want a smooth coverage in your painted project.

The less glossy the paint is, the more even the coverage will be and the easier it will be to do unnoticeable touch-ups.
A good quality brush such as Purdy or Zibra will help avoid brush marks.
A few drops of water to your paint will also help you achieve a smooth, stroke free finish. More thin coats of paint have a better result than one thick coat.
