For a Harry Potter feel, float them with invisible thread or fishing line.

Pretty dangerous to use for Halloween. These candle were made to use on dining room tables and most people do not use real candles anymore with the manufacture of battery operated ones. Too dangerous to leave unattended. Unless surrounded by a tall glass enclosure, 1. they will blow out from the slightest breeze and 2. they can be knocked over easily due to their height. You could possible use with a candle holder INSIDE a very tall pumpkin. The height and instability of them is what makes them dangerous for outdoors and around trick or treaters.

When trick or treaters come to the door I want to "style" the room they are looking into for Halloween. This is where I would put candles and have low lights and kind of make it scary for them. We have a life sized bust on display in this room and I put a scary mask on it , turn it so it is facing the door and throw a dark shawl around her. Have also used a candleabra that looks kind of ghoulish.
