Fruit flies?

are you sure they are fruit flies and not gnats or other tiny pests? if fruit flies, put some cider vinegar in a small jar, add a bit of water and add a drop or so of dish washing liquid--put some plastic wrap over the top and fasten it down, then use toothpick to punch a few holes in top. the fruit flies go in and can't get out. works for me every time.

well, try the jar thing and if there are tiny black bugs in bottom of jar, it is fruit flies, if not, may be other pests. there is a tiny bug that likes the kitchen drain. or your plants. good luck in solving the problem

You can also do the vinegar in a jar thing, and instead of the plastic wrap, take a piece of paper, form it into a funnel, staple or tape, and place the funnel over the top of the jar with the pointy end extending into the jar (but not touching the vinegar). I trimmed the funnel so it extended only a few inches above the jar top. The critters fly in but can't fly out. Works great.

Try this; Small glass with 1/2" of Apple Cider vinegar and two drops of dish soap and set it on counter, make a few of them depending on how many fruit flies you have? Hope it works.

I put apple cider vinegar in an open container (the wider the opening and low height will do best for sitting on kitchen counter) add 3 to 1 ratio of dish detergent. Mix them together well. Vinegar attracts the fruit flies, they die because of the soap.
