You only need three items for this fast project.

I used a large Black spider.

You need a large spider, I had a large Black one that fit the bill. You can use a different color if you like.

You need a 8-10 inch crochet doily

I looked in several stores before I found a real string crochet doily. I found plenty of the papers ones. But they would be harder to use, and may rip when placed on the embroidery hoop. Hobby Lobby had a number of sizes to select from.

One 10 inch wood embroidery hoop

The stores have both wood and metal ones. I have a drawer full of different sizes, this one was the perfect size.

The stretched doily.

Next you drape the doily over the inside hoop. Loosen the screw on the top hoop so it will go over the bottom hoop. Now attach the spider. My spider is really a ring. So it holds on without any glue.

Finished project hanging up

On the side of the cabinet in our drop zone I have a command hook for decorations. I change the decoration to match the Holidays.

Suggested materials:
  • Wood embroidery hoop and black spider ring   (had them)
  • 10 inches string doily   (Hobby Lobby)
