Vickie, what a lovely chair. To be honest, I have never done a project like this but I do know that Krylon makes some really great spray paints for all kinds of uses. You could use a lovely pink or blue or any color of your desires. As for the seats, I think if it were my chair I would make a couple of cushions one for the back and one for the seat. Here's a great how-to-step-by-step guide on how to measure and sew such cushions. Good luck.

I bought a bundle of the rattan strips, made to repair rattan, on Amazon. Not expensive but more than I needed. Notice it’s not a round reed, but slightly flattened.

Soak the strips to soften them, then you can rewrap all those torn up areas. Every joint was scratched up or off. These wrapped places are not doing anything to hold the structure together, they’re just for looks.

It just takes patience. It took a while because you have to wait for glue to harden before you keep wrapping. I secured it all with hot glue and some tiny nails.

Spray painted the newly wrapped areas with a paint sealer, then the whole chair. Love my new chairs! Cats don’t seem interested in scratching this time around.

So pretty. Spray paint will work wonders.

I would use cloth strips and weave a new seat and back after spray painting the frame.

I second what Sally says. I would make new back and seat cushions. The covers could be removable for washing and it would be less labor intensive in the long run.

It could be upholstered, but alot work. I think I would spray paint and make new cushions

really depends on how you would use it, either outdoors or inside

    good luck
