https://glassdoctor.com/ not sure but if your window are aluminum the change in temperature will cause sweating. Maybe a storm window or winterize the out side window with heavy plastic.

I have very old single pane glass and several Windows I have replaced with plexi glass and this happens to mine. I wipe sills when I remember and I use exterior paint on the window sills for better protection from moisture.

The picture isn't that great. But if that window is a double pane glass and the seal between the 2 layers is broken you could end up with condensation on the interior pane, this running down the glass to the sill. It might be wise to replace the window.

A good, but temporary, solution would be to create double glazing using cling film.

Build a wooden framework within the window recess then, using double-sided tape, stick clingfilm to the framework - you can even do this before finally fitting the frame. Make sure the clingfilm is reasonably taught when laying it over the wooden frame/tape. Obviously the film is in narrow lengths so tape the edge before laying down the next length.

When finished, a gentle waft over with a hairdryer will tighten the clingfilm.

Clean the window and ensure it is as dry as possible before installing the wooden frame, using the hairdryer for the final drying process. With the wooden frame in position, seal the frame to the window recess using caulking.

    dehumidifier in the room

Your first solution is to get rid of the excess humidity. Purchase a dehumidifier and set it for 50% humidity control. This will help the humidity control in most of your home. It would be good to replace the window and get a sealed unit with at least two or three panes. In the meantime, place a folded towel along the sill to catch any water until you can afford to resolve the issue with the window. There are also inserts you can put inside your window frame to completely cover the old window.

I had the same problem until I replaced the aluminum single pane windows with vinyl double paned windows.

    Hello,

If the window frame is sealed with a Marine Varnish it will help! But if it gets wet then maybe more ventilation is required if the window is internal.
