In Michigan we are 40 miles from Lake Michigan, and I dont do anything to winterize them and they are fine every year. A friend grows strawberries near Lake Michigan (less than 1 mile away) and they are in a big field and come back fine every year.
You can cover them with straw or leaves if you are worried about them not coming back next year, or even just use the leaves that fall off the trees and remove them in the spring once the chance of frosts and freezes are gone for the year.
