If you happened to catch my little fall home tour of my porch and entryway in September, then you saw that I had a big burlap wreath hanging on our new side door where you enter the mudroom. I absolutely love this door and it’s 3/4 length glass panel. It’s simple and stylish, it lets a ton of light in, and it allows me to see outside onto the porch. Except when there’s a wreath hanging on the door! Sure, the wreath looked great on that door, but it was driving me crazy having so much of the view through the glass blocked. And that’s how this DIY wreath stand project idea came to be!

This wreath stand was actually made completely out of scrap wood that we had in our junk pile leftover from other projects and renovations!

Chris cut four pieces for the base out of 2x4s and just made a little 45 degree cut on one corner of each piece. The centre piece is just a 4×4.

Next he assembled all the piece together like you can see in this photo.

The finial on top is just a fence post topper that I picked up a the Habitat for Humanity ReStore a few years ago. It had just been waiting for the right project all this time!

We spray painted the whole thing in oil rubbed bronze, then attached a little hook from our stash of random treasures in the garage.

This DIY wreath stand is a perfect solution if you don’t want to hang a wreath on your door, but you still want to be able to display a wreath on your porch.

Psst! If you are loving the wreath in this photo, you can totally DIY up your own! Learn how to, here.
