How to fix a retainer wall block?

This block has a gap to fill in. What do you recommend? The weather is getting cold now and may have to wait for spring. Could I put bagged sand in the crevice to stop the snow and freezing water for now?
The sand would just get wet and freeze. Seal it with aluminum foil and plastic. Wrap the whole block.
I agree with Kelli. Sand will get wet and freeze. Get a small bag of concrete mix and fill it in. If it's too cold use Great Stuff spray foam to fill it in. When hard cut the excess level with the block.
Check into a product called Sika. You can get it from Home Depot. I haven't used it but watched some demonstrations that were amazing.
Get some concrete bonding adhesive brush it on per instructions inside of the crack then they have small plastic bags of mortar mix or concrete filler mix and fill it in let it dry some and you can brush it to blend it in.
Take a chisel and a hammer and even out the hole, make the bottom of the hole wider than the top so the patch can't pop out. Spray it out with the hose, getting out as many loose bits as you can. Brush the inside of the hole with concrete adhesive, let sit till tacky, then fill with concrete. As long as it's not raining or freezing in your area it will set fine
