I never had any luck with these, but Once: kept it in the hot house over winter, Planted it in the Garden aside an Easter Lily, in April, it Survived until August then Died.
In Zone 5 I am. It is probably easier in Zone 7, but really: In a hot house, the chance of Poinsettias Survival is much increased than outdoors.
repot, fertilize, and set out side in summer in partial sun shade. You can oot cuttings in water or rooting hormaone and dirt.
I have had 2. They are tropical plants. I put mine away in the front closet at night. That gave it, its hours of darkness. They both lived for a long time. One day after a couple years they kicked. The temp, the weather, the Motherly care, whatever.....they went to Plant heaven......I truly think it depends on where you buy them and the weather they've been in before you purchased them. Sometimes they need re-potted and they have to adjust in their surroundings. They are like Ferns.......tropical and tricky!!! They will show you......WHO is boss.......
